How we handle personal data

Last updated 8 September 2026. Draft for legal review before publication.

Who we are

Asgharian Ltd ("Asgharian", "we") is a software company registered in Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Contact: privacy@asgharian.dev.

This website

  • Analytics. We use Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data or track you across sites. It records page views, referrers and approximate country.
  • Cookies. This site sets no tracking cookies and shows no cookie banner because none is required.
  • Contact form. When you send a message we receive your name, work email, the topic you chose and what you wrote. We use it only to reply to you. It is kept for 24 months after our last exchange unless an engagement follows.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email is stored with our mailing provider and used only to send the field notes you asked for. Every message has an unsubscribe link.
  • Scheduling. If you book a call through the embedded calendar, the calendar provider processes your name, email and chosen time under its own privacy notice.
  • Hosting. Our host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. Logs are kept for a short, fixed period.

Client engagements

During an engagement we may process personal data contained in client systems, for example names of staff in a work-order system or contacts in a CRM. In that case the client is the controller and Asgharian is a processor acting under a data processing agreement. Telemetry from building and power systems stays in client-controlled infrastructure; we do not copy it to our own systems except for the minimum needed to deliver the work, and only with agreement.

Legal basis

We rely on legitimate interest to respond to enquiries and to run the site securely, on consent for the newsletter, and on contract for client engagements.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors that help us run the site and the business, such as hosting, email, analytics and scheduling providers, each under a contract that restricts use to our instructions. Where a provider is outside the European Economic Area we rely on standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@asgharian.dev. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.

Changes

We will post any change to this notice on this page with a new date.
